Russell Kane is a comedian, actor, and writer whose work spans stand-up, screen, stage and radio.

As a performer, he has appeared on Live at the Apollo, Graham Norton, Jonathan Ross, Michael McIntyre’s Big Show, and The Stand Up Sketch Show, among others. He won Best Show at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards and made history as the first comedian to win both the Edinburgh Comedy Award and the Melbourne Comedy Festival’s Barry Award in the same year. His most recent tour, HyperActive, ran for two years across seven countries.

True to form, the show is defined by Kane’s hyperkinetic performance energising the room. He must do his 10,000 daily steps in an hour, purposefully striding the full width of the stage, as well as scrambling on the floor or contorting his body into dramatic poses to make a point… he certainly has a spring in his step… and it’s very infectious.

Russell’s BBC Radio 4 podcast Evil Genius became the best-performing original podcast on BBC Sounds, was subsequently adapted for Sky TV by BBC Studios, and sits alongside his hit nature series Evil Animals under the same BBC Sounds feed. He co-presented a prime-time Channel 4 documentary on men’s health and men’s bodies.
